Side Hustles, Supplemental Income & The Things That Make You Go… Wait, That Makes Money?

I am constantly thinking of ways to generate money.

Not because I think everyone should work 24/7 — but because there is one investment category that, in my opinion, sets people up for long-term stability, opportunity, and keeping money flowing instead of constantly chasing it. No, I am not giving away all my secrets today.

But it got me thinking…

Sometimes people do not lack motivation — they lack access, information, confidence, startup money, or simply knowing how to navigate getting started.

So I thought I would share a few fun examples of supplemental income ideas that made me stop and think… wait… that is actually brilliant.

First example…

Do you remember the jolly jumpers? Bounce houses. The things that magically appeared every Sunday family party, birthday party, graduation, baptism, or random backyard event?

Growing up, it felt like they just appeared.

Now as an adult I think… hold on… somebody owns that business.

Somebody bought inflatable castles, stored them, delivered them, picked them up, cleaned them, and built an entire income stream.

And honestly? That is kind of genius.

But businesses like that teach an important lesson:

Revenue is not profit.

You might rent one for hundreds of dollars per event, but then you have to ask:
How much overhead?
Storage?
Insurance?
Employees?
Maintenance?
Fuel?
How active do I need to be?

Maybe you make $3,000 one month.
Maybe $300 another.

That is business.

Then I started thinking about all the random businesses I never appreciated growing up.

My dad used to have a stork business.

You know… the giant yard signs people put outside when a baby is born.

And now I finally get it.

Low overhead.
Memorable moments.
Recurring events.

Do people even do storks anymore?!

Because I did NOT get one for Isaac and Evan(my sons) and now I am offended on behalf of my younger self.

I would have absolutely loved one. I want a stork!

Actually… forget storks.

What happened to welcome home signs?

And now there are companies doing giant graduation signs in your front yard with balloons and themes and photo setups. Someone literally built a business celebrating milestones.

Brilliant.

It made me realize something:

Money is everywhere.

People pay for convenience.
People pay for memories.
People pay for experiences.
People pay to save time.
People pay to celebrate.

Maybe your side income is:
• Yard greeting signs
• Bounce house rentals
• Photo booths
• Vending machines
• ATM machines
• Parking Lot machines
• Amazon seller (you never know when that jacket you have never worn that you bought for $20 is worth $75 in amazon)

But before jumping into any idea ask:

Can this run without me?
Can this generate income repeatedly?
What is the overhead?
Do I need employees?
Do I need licenses?
Does this create freedom or another job?

I cannot give away all my favorite money ideas…

…but if you ever call me to talk finances, loans, business ideas, or how to think strategically about money — there is a good chance this conversation comes up.

Because sometimes the difference between struggling and growing is not working harder.

It is thinking differently.
